When asked to explain why 20% of Americans couldn't find the U.S. on a world map, South Carolina's Caitlin Upton sounded as if she wasn't too sure herself. Upton blubbered pure stream-of-consciousness nonsense during the interview segment of 2007's Miss Teen USA, a slipup that made her an ignominious overnight sensation. "I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. ..." Stop right there, please. Despite her verbal stumble, the 18-year-old miraculously still finished third runner-up in the competition.
